Sergio Farjado was the Governor of Antioquia from 2012-2015 and Mayor of Medellín from 2004-2007. He was elected with the highest number of votes in the history of the city. As an outsider of traditional politics, he led an independent civil movement, "Citizen commitment". His government had the highest acceptance and popularity rates in the history of the city and the country. With social innovations based on transparency, he earns the highest evaluation and acknowledgment outside the Colombia borders. The magazine "Change" selected him as person of the year 2006 in Colombia. The fDi magazine and the Financial Times Business in England selected him as the Latin American personality of the year 2007.
He has been a professor in many universities, excelling as a speaker and researcher. He is considered as the thinker that revolutionized the way of doing politics in Colombia. He has dedicated the majority of his life to academic work as a scientist and professor in many institutions around the world
